On 6 March 2024, the Red Flag project partners gathered in Sardinia, Italy, at the headquarters of Porta Aperta-Cooperativa Sociale Onlus. This visit was designed to further develop the Red Flag App, which aims to prevent violence by identifying early warning signs in potentially violent relationships and providing guidance on how to respond.
During their stay, the partners collaborated with Project Aurora’s specialists, including psychologists, social workers, and educators, who are part of the host organization. This collaboration enriched the app’s content with expert insights on violence prevention.
Stefania Puggioni, the President, along with Vice-President Emanuela Bussu, welcomed delegations from our partners: Fundacja Pedra (Poland), Youth Society for Peace and Development of the Balkans, YSPDB (Bulgaria), and ETE FAROS.
During this first session, psychologist Giovanna Cottu and social worker Giovanna Piana, who are part of the “Project Aurora” anti-violence service managed by Porta Aperta, gave an overview of the service. They discussed the indicators of violence, its various manifestations, protective measures and tools for women, and the operational methods of anti-violence services in supporting victims. They also highlighted the importance of proactive measures through community prevention, information, education, and awareness efforts.
The meeting generated numerous questions and led to a productive discussion that will form the foundation for our platform designed to prevent violence.
